FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF CETIRIZINE HYDROCHLORIDE pH TRIGGED IN-SITU OCULAR GEL

Objective: In the present research work, aim was to prepare pH trigged in-situ ocular gel of Cetirizine Hydrochloride (CTZ) improve its local bioavailability at eye surface. Methods: CTZ prepared by pH-trigged method. In-situ a pH-sensitive gelling agent (Carbomer) with one-viscosity builder polymer (HPMC E4M). All formulation evaluated for appearance, pH, viscosity different capacity, % drug content, and release. Nine formulations were optimized successfully using 32 factorial designs. Optimization done DoE software version Version 13.0.10.064. Results: nine subjected evaluation. Out 9 formulations, F3 had good capacity minimum amount polymer. The appearance translucent homogenous. is 5.55±0.07, which maintaining in solution stage. Viscosity 20 RPM 5.5 837.30±1.00 cps; this range has flow properties. 7.4 6800.74±1.58cps; helps retain Drug content 100.16±0.53%. release 300 min 69.22±2.12, it can say that may be retained more than surface, reducing dosing frequency. Conclusion: formulated triggered system Carbomer 974P combination HPMC E4M. easily converted from stage so we bioavailable conventional ophthalmic vitro results indicated viable alternative drops virtue ability sustain
